Job Summary

The Talent Acquisition Manager oversees a team of staff and student assistants and the day-to-day operations of Talent Acquisition to provide responsive support for employment activities for students, faculty, staff and other entities across campus. This position ensures Talent Acquisition members provide timely responses; comply with University service standards and assist in creating efficiencies and consistent communication for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage functions and activities of Talent Acquisition consistent with University’s mission and strategic plan
  • Supervise Talent Acquisition Team
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus and community constituents
  • Support HR staff and University community to effectively resolve problems, interpret/communicate HR policies and procedures and recommend courses of action
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and University and USG policies and procedures
  • Assess faculty, staff and student employee needs to ensure adequate services are available from Talent Acquisition
  • Administer the Criminal Background Investigation practices for staff, faculty, temporary and student employees as directed by Office of Legal Affairs
  • Oversee employee drug and alcohol screenings for the University

UP Police Constable Exam 2024: More than 19 lakh candidates to appear in Phase 2 of examination, details here

Over 19 lakh candidates will appear in two days of the second phase of Uttar Pradesh police constable recruitment exam to be conducted in two shifts each on Friday and Saturday.

A senior Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) official said so far around 28.91 lakh candidates have appeared in two shifts each in three days of the first phase of examination on August 23, 24 and 25, while the remaining candidates, 19.26 lakh will appear in the second phase on August 30 and 31.

He said the exam is being conducted across 1,174 examination centres in 67 U.P. districts under tight security that involved biometric verification, including fingerprint and facial recognition.

He said a total of 48,17,441 candidates were expected to appear in two shifts in the recruitment examination spread over five days — August 23, 24, 25 and August 30 and 31.

He further stated that a large percentage of candidates have skipped the examination in the first three days of examination. He said over 31.38% candidates have skipped the three days of the first phase of examination. He said around 31.72% candidates skipped the exam on the first day on August 23. Similarly, around 31.78% and around 29.65% of candidates skipped the exam on the second and third day, he added.

In all, over 19.83 lakh candidates out of over 28.91 lakh candidates have taken the exam in two shifts each on the first three days.

Meanwhile, the board listed as many as 318 suspicious candidates, whose credentials did not match with the original documents, on the first three days. The board has allowed them to appear in the written examination, but the details of the suspicious candidates are being cross-checked and legal action will be taken against them if their credentials are not found correct, the officials said.

At least 61, 72 and 185 suspicious candidates were listed on August 23, 24 and 25, respectively, they added.

39 arrested, 34 cases registered

The official said 39 candidates were arrested for impersonation and using unfair means and 34 cases were lodged in the matter in the three days of the first phase of the exam on August 23, 24 and 25.

He said five people were arrested in five different districts on the first day, 20 people were arrested and 17 cases were registered in different districts on the second day, and 14 people were arrested and 12 cases registered on the third day.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Compensation will oversee and manage the strategic direction,
administration, and delivery of the compensation program. They will plan, develop, and implement new and revised compensation programs and
policies to align with the University’s goals. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the University’s compensation programs
are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.

Core
Responsibilities

  1. Develops and executes strategy and guiding principles for the compensation
    program.
  2. Oversees compensation data and reporting to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data.
  3. Manages all
    third-party vendors for compensation and coordinates with UT System on programs administered centrally.
  4. Interprets policy and
    procedure in compensation and provides recommendations to PE leadership; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws
    and regulations.
  5. Evaluates and manages compliance risk within compensation.
  6. Monitors the effectiveness of
    existing compensation practices and recommends changes consistent with compensation trends and the University’s
    objectives.
  7. Guides staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
  8. Oversees the
    participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure compensation objectives are achieved.
  9. Coordinates
    approval of new position descriptions or changes to existing descriptions.
  10. Works with departments to ensure positions and
    accompanying salary ranges are aligned to support the organization optimally. Makes recommendations as appropriate for job structure
    changes, and works with departments for implementation.
  11. Responsible for review of position reclassification requests.
    Determines if the proposed position meets departmental requirements and is a fit with the job duties being performed.
  12. Drives
    change through process improvement and metrics-driven leadership. Develops and manages metrics scorecard for compensation, analyzes for key
    issues and trends, and partners with key stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions.’
  13. Analyzes data, conducts market
    research, and creates strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  14. Performs other duties as
    assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
    from an accredited institution.
  • Five or more (5+) years of professional experience in
    compensation.
  • Two (2) years of people leadership experience building, managing and/or developing high-performing
    teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform compensation data analysis and policy review.
  • Relevant experience
    supporting enterprise and HR systems that facilitate efficiency and effectiveness through efficient business processes and
    reporting.
  • Relevant experience in developing metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools and capabilities.’
  • Excellent
    written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with leaders and
    practitioners at all levels.
  • Ability to drive strategy, work with data and analytics, and demonstrate capability in
    formulating and implementing effective and creative strategies.
  • Ability to coach and mentor.
  • Ability to
    facilitate problem-solving and approach client issues from a solution-oriented stance.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize risks
    and issues and evaluate competing needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred
Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • CCP,
    SHRM-CP/SCP, HRCI-PHR/SPHR, or other relevant certification.
  • Experience in higher education setting.

Conditions

Working Environment:

  • Office environment.
  • Ability to travel to and from
    meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be
    required.
  • Hybrid: On-campus & remote, available to come to campus when necessary.

Physical
Demands:

  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only
    occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

This position will require working both
remotely in Texas and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the
employee’s responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
