Position, Department: Talent Acquisition Specialist, Human Resources

Type of Position: Full-time Salaried, Exempt

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., 40 hours per week

Pay Range: $50,441 – $63,051 annually and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the recruitment, screening, interviewing, selection, and pre-employment experience of vacant positions. This position will collaborate with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract and hire the best talent for the college.

Required Qualifications: Associate’s degree with three years of Human Resources experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and one year of Human Resources experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Human Resources certification such as SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM-CP
  • Two years’ experience in recruitment or talent acquisition
  • One year of experience with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and/or Candidate Management Systems (CMS)
  • Experience working at a university or community college
  • Multilingual speaking and writing proficiency

    Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

    • Collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. Identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
    • Coordinate, assist and/or facilitate the initiation of requisitions with hiring supervisors when necessary.
    • Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
    • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job boards.
    • Attend and participate in relevant job fairs and external recruiting events to source qualified, diverse talent.
    • Source candidates through a variety of methods, including but not limited to social media (i.e., LinkedIn) and employee referrals to ensure candidate slate quality and diversity.
    • Manage the overall interview, selection, and closing process.
    • Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications, and performing phone, zoom, and/or in person interviews.
    • Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending compensation package, start dates, and other pertinent details. Set up new employees for orientation and onboarding.
    • Oversee the E-Verify process and I-9 compliance documentation for new hires.
    • Coordinate with HR and payroll staff to ensure that data is accurately input into the HRIS.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Demonstrated exceptional communication skills – especially interpersonal, verbal and written.
    • Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information.
    • Working knowledge of Human Resources employment laws and regulations.
    • Working knowledge of interview techniques and applicant sourcing methods.
    • Experience working with automated employment applicant tracking systems.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize effectively, and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands.
    • Demonstrated computer/technological skill proficiency, specifically with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ATS, and Social Media Platforms.
