Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Counseling with
    LLPC or LPC or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ of
    professional academic advising experience at a college or university plus supervision/management experience.
  • Strong computer and
    database skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in working with students to achieve
    educational goals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with academic colleagues
    in development of academic advising protocol and programs to retain students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and take initiative when
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of university academic policy and
  • Experience with Access database reporting.
  • Program development and management.
  • Development and execution
    of communication campaigns.
  • Experience working with BANNER, Ellucian Degree Works, and
All QualificationsUnless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining

Position Purpose
  • Provide academic advising to current and prospective students who are pursuing or
    plan to pursue a degree program in School of Health Sciences.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the academic advising office
  • Develop programs and initiatives for the School of Health Sciences undergraduate probation population.
  • Maintenance
    of student records, coordination, preparation and maintenance of transfer credit evaluations, process athletics’ departmental forms,
    maintenance of the change of major requests, attend admissions and orientation programs as well as group information
