Job
Summary
Assist the Office of Institutional Equity and Human Resources with the day-to-day administrative support of the
front desk operations of the department. Respond to employee inquiries and provide assistance as needed. Support a variety of other routine
human resources functions and complex projects as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties may
include:
- Screen and interpret telephone calls; receive visitors; and supply information on policies and operations in
a polite, sensitive, and competent manner. - Maintain and monitor the department email daily, disseminate inquiries to the appropriate
person/people. - Assist the day-to-day functions including but not limited to employment verifications, unemployment claims, loan
forgiveness forms, etc. - Assist in the processing of personnel actions for the College employees to include, but not limited to,
hires, terminations, leaves, upgrades, promotions, and changes to demographic data. - Ensure accurate processing, verification, and
maintenance of new hire paperwork and personnel documents. - Process complex material such as State required forms using an
(electronic typewriter) and handle departmental mailings. - Provide clerical support to the department as needed, assistant with
managing calendars & budget, arranging meetings, copying, filing, maintaining office supplies inventory appointments, etc. - Ensure
the confidentiality of all office transactions, files, and reports. - Prioritize work to ensure efficiency and that all required
deadlines are met. Maintain an office environment conducive and sensitive to the varying needs of employees, College and other agency
officials and the public. - Maintain cordial working relationships with various college departments to ensure the proper processing,
delivery and/or receipt of information. - Perform other routine tasks and projects relevant to the Institutional Equity and Human
Resources office.
Minimum Requirements
- At least three years of experience in a complex
professional environment - Excellent communication, organizational and strong analytical skills
- Proficiency with word
processing, spreadsheet, database, and scheduling software; excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication
skills. - Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality; demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse
environment. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to
remain calm under pressure. Ability to collaborate cooperatively with others.
Competencies
Shift, Days, and Additional Work Schedule Information: 19 hours/week
Salary/Hourly Rate: $22/hour
