Vacancy Announcement
Florida A&M University’s School of Business and Industry is pleased to announce the
acceptance of qualified applications for the Coordinator, Academic Support Services vacancy. This position will advise and counsel
undergraduate and graduate students for the School of Business and Industry Programs.
Responsibilities
Provides academic
consulting services to students, prospective students and former students; Provides undergraduate academic advisement and assist in
enrollment and registration; Resolves problems relating to curriculum, courses prerequisites and eligibility by referring to catalogues, SBI
Student Handbook and other appropriate resource materials or governance manuals; Receives and reviews transcripts to ensure eligibility for
admission to a specific program including evaluation of transfer credits and applicability of academic credit to program requirements;
Evaluates transcripts and course work to ensure student remains on career track; Reviews student grade reports each semester to determine
probation and/or suspension based on academic regulations of the School of Business and Industry and the university; Notifies students of
probation or suspension; and returns students to regular status after sufficient progress is made.
Reviews students’
files to ensure deadlines are met for completing various graduation requirements such as course work requirements, internship and
Professional Development certification and other specific program requirements; Monitors students’ progress by conducting transcript audits
for graduation, preparing and reviewing various statistical reports pertaining to enrollment and graduation, and certifying degrees for the
B.S and MBA graduates; Maintains confidentiality of academic records for current and previously enrolled students; Produces and conducts
exit seminars for graduating students; Attends various activities for recruitment of undergraduate students (FTIC and transfer); and
facilitates and helps oversee the change of grade process for SBI.
Minimum
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related
experience; or master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization.

Pay Plan
This is an Administrative and
Professional (A&P) position.
