Description
Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director/Executive Director of Athletic Development, the Associate
Athletic Director for Development & External Sales is a leadership position responsible for overseeing a comprehensive annual fund strategy
and sales program for Syracuse Athletics and the ‘Cuse Athletics Fund (‘CAF).
The Associate AD for Development & External Sales will
provide oversight for all ‘CAF annual fund operations with a focus on renewing, growing, and developing new contributions associated with
annual memberships, priority points and donor rank, premium seating, suites, gameday hospitality, parking, and tickets.
The Associate
AD for Development & External Sales will provide strategic direction and guidance to the General Manager regarding the planning and
implementation of an aggressive effort to drive ‘CAF memberships and revenue opportunities associated with season tickets and renewals,
premium ticket sales, and group and individual ticket sales. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide strategies designed to
improve prospecting members and attendance growth, evaluating seating policies and strategies, and delivering excellent donor and customer
service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Ideal candidates will
have at minimum, eight years of demonstrated experience of successful annual fundraising, premium seating and sales, and management,
preferably in a college or university setting. - Experience in Division I Athletics strongly preferred.
- A valid Driver’s
License is required.

work with accuracy under deadline pressure - General recognition of indicators of wealth and the ability to engage in meaningful and
thoughtful conversations with prospective donors - Familiarity and understanding of current issues in intercollegiate athletics and
higher education - Working knowledge of and familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations, particularly those impacting representatives
of the institution’s athletics interests - Ability to work with university and donor database systems
- Impeccable integrity and
the ability to work in a collaborative environment
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the
Senior Associate Athletic Director/Executive Director of Athletic Development to provide strategic leadership of the development team with a
primary focus and oversight of the annual fund strategy and sales programs. - Oversee all ‘CAF annual fund operations and
opportunities to renew and leverage contributions associated with memberships, annual benefits, priority points and donor rank, premium
seating, suites, gameday hospitality, parking, and tickets. Oversee and provide consistent leadership to the Legends Group General Manager
and Sales & Service team, including direction and guidance for the ‘CAF annual benefits and membership program. - Provide strategy,
planning, and the implementation of an aggressive effort to drive ‘CAF memberships and annual donations, as well as additional revenue
opportunities associated with season tickets and renewals, premium ticket sales, and group and individual ticket sales. - Work
collaboratively in a leadership capacity with and across various athletics department units and teams, including the ticket office,
marketing and communications, business development, corporate sponsorships, and business offices - Partner and communicate closely
with various units and teams within University Advancement and External Affairs to ensure annual fund operations are being managed
efficiently and collaboratively.
