Duties and Responsibilities

- Master’s Degree from and accredited institution to include counseling, education, higher
education, student development or field related to advising duties is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of prior employment in academic advising, student services or higher education.

- Attention to detail is required along with initiative, drive, flexibility, and ability to excel in a diverse
- Familiarity with a university environment including an understanding of the organizational and governance structure
of major colleges and universities.
- Prefer experience in academic advising and teaching at the collegiate level.
have strong computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience in using virtual meeting platforms
such as MS Teams or Zoom, proficient with SIS (Banner, PeopleSoft) and Learning Management Systems (Blackboard, Canvas).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate will have the ability to teach in a classroom and
work well with a diverse population of students. The successful candidate must be able to research and summarize information for reports;
lead and support project-based work; have effective organizational skills; and must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
Training will be provided on advising skills and competencies and expected delivery outcomes.
